trask beaker cup chalices
offered is this unusual pair of 5 1/2" chalices. israel trask (BEVERLY, MASS 1813-56) is known for this unique design and these chalices are prime examples of his innovative styling. the cups are from castings he used for his beakers. the bases are his pear shaped pot lids. pewterers were skilled at using existing parts to create new forms as casting molds were costly. this form is never marked, but the castings are proof of the shop of israel trask. these have been found as components of trask communion sets. the rare chalices are in near mint condition.
