boardman three-quart flagon

i am pleased to offer this example of probably the most impressive flagons made in nineteenth century america.  this 14" tall piece is marked on the underside with a quality "x" mark, an eagle (l434) and the "tb & sb" (l429) touch mark used by thomas danforth and sherman boardman of hartford, connecticut circa 1825.  the fine flagon is a design tribute to spire flagons made in england during the mid-eighteenth century period.  it is finely detailed with turned moldings and cast handle, thumbpiece and finial.  the condition inside and out is very good.
