It is with a heavy heart that i announce the passing of my beloved husband, Frank M. Powell, on April 1, 2024. Following is his obituary:

Frank Powell was truly a renaissance man, deeply passionate about pewter and dedicated to mastering all aspects of its craft. From repairing to buying and selling this old gray metal, his expertise was unparalleled. A born artisan and craftsman, Frank's skills extended far beyond pewter as he apprenticed as a young man to become a Journeyman Electrician, showcasing his versatility and thirst for knowledge. He held deep admiration for craftsmen of the past and carried on their legacy through his honest business practices, marked by profound knowledge and fairness. Even as his health wavered, Frank's drive never faltered. Whether customizing his beloved Mustang cars or meticulously assembling model cars, he exemplified a relentless work ethic and a restless spirit. A devoted father and husband, Frank's legacy is not only in his craftsmanship but also in the lasting love and pride he instilled in those around him. jill powell 7/28/2024

multi reed 1690 nicholson plate

i am very pleased to offer this very nice, very rare size 9 1/8" multi reed plate. it was made between 1687 and 1733 in London, england by robert nicholson. nicholson was appointed "purveyor to his majesty" in 1731 following his fathers death. the front rim is stamped with the original owners initials "ac". the makers marks are on the back. the plate is in very good original condition with only a single 1/4" split on the rim at 7 o'clock.
