It is with a heavy heart that i announce the passing of my beloved husband, Frank M. Powell, on April 1, 2024. Following is his obituary:

Frank Powell was truly a renaissance man, deeply passionate about pewter and dedicated to mastering all aspects of its craft. From repairing to buying and selling this old gray metal, his expertise was unparalleled. A born artisan and craftsman, Frank's skills extended far beyond pewter as he apprenticed as a young man to become a Journeyman Electrician, showcasing his versatility and thirst for knowledge. He held deep admiration for craftsmen of the past and carried on their legacy through his honest business practices, marked by profound knowledge and fairness. Even as his health wavered, Frank's drive never faltered. Whether customizing his beloved Mustang cars or meticulously assembling model cars, he exemplified a relentless work ethic and a restless spirit. A devoted father and husband, Frank's legacy is not only in his craftsmanship but also in the lasting love and pride he instilled in those around him. jill powell 7/28/2024

narrow rim 1670 plates

i am pleased to offer this rare pair of 9 1/4" narrow multi reed plates. they are marked on the front with the hallmarks and back touchmarks struck by the maker robert clothyer. he made pewter in chard, england from 1670 to 1710. the back is stamped with a "1707" date along with a triad of owner's initials "iik." the three hundred year old plates have some areas of pitting but are in fair/good cleaned condition.
