fine a. griswold coffeepot

offered for the serious collector that appreciates pewter in excellent condition is this impressive coffepot of the elongated pear shaped design.  it stands 11 1/2" tall, features a double dome lid with original wood finial button.  the body, base and lid are decorated with lathe turned bands and incised lines all applied by its skilled maker, ashbil griswold of meriden, connecticut.  griswold operated his shop from 1807 to 1835.  his patriotic l420 eagle touchmark is struck on the outside bottom.  the interior is as clean as the exterior.
