for your consideration is this “old fashioned” pear shaped teapot bearing the quality crown x touchmark used by thomas danforth iii. he worked in stepney, connecticut from 1777-1818 and philadelphia, pennsylvania from 1807-1813. it stands 7 3/8” tall and is 8 1/2” long. the ebonized handle and wood finial are restored. the piece is in very good condition. this marked example is considered very rare.
